PASIFIKA WELLBEING SPACES

At Kahiau Wellbeing, we create Pasifika‑led spaces that honour culture, connection, and collective healing. Our workshops and events are designed to uplift our community through creativity, movement, Talanoa, and shared experiences. Every space we hold is grounded in our values of Tautua, Alofa, and Fa’aaloalo — ensuring our people feel safe, supported, and seen.

Services

Free Community Services

We offer a range of free programmes and workshops designed to bring people together, build confidence, and support wellbeing in practical, culturally respectful ways. These sessions are open to all cultures and provide safe, welcoming spaces for learning, connection, and community support.

Workshops & Events

Throughout the year, we run community events, group activities, and wellbeing workshops that encourage connection, creativity, and growth. These gatherings are designed to uplift individuals and families, strengthen relationships, and support our community in meaningful ways.

Family Support

We support families with guidance, connection, and practical help through our free community initiatives. Our focus is on strengthening whānau, easing pressure, and creating spaces where families feel supported, informed, and valued.

Community Outreach

Our outreach work connects directly with individuals, families, and local groups to share resources, offer support, and help people understand what services are available to them. We meet people where they are — with respect, cultural care, and genuine compassion.

Funded Disability & High‑Needs Support (Referrals Required)

We provide professional support‑work services for individuals with disability or high‑needs care requirements. This service is accessed through funded referral pathways such as NASC and other approved agencies. Our team offers day‑to‑day support that helps clients maintain independence, build routines, and feel safe and supported — while easing the load on families at home.

Individual Support (Funded)

Through funded referrals, we walk alongside clients with practical, everyday support tailored to their needs. This may include personal care, community access, communication support, routine building, and other tasks that help individuals live with dignity and confidence.

Why Our Services Matter

Many families feel overwhelmed trying to navigate support systems or carry everything on their own. Our services — both free and funded — are designed to give people real options, real support, and a community they can rely on.

Suicide Prevention

A supportive workshop that guides Pasifika parents in recognising changes in their child’s behaviour, understanding what might stop them from speaking up, and learning gentle ways to encourage open, honest Talanoa. Together, we explore how stigma can be broken within our culture and how families can respond with love and safety.

PASIFIKA SUPPORT WORK SERVICES

We support Pasifika families who are caring full‑time for loved ones and may not know that services like ours exist. Our team can walk alongside your aiga as an extra layer of support — helping you navigate systems, access the right services, and feel less alone in your caring journey.

We can support families with:

  • Advocacy & system navigation (WINZ, health, education, housing)

  • Wellbeing support

  • Disability and high‑needs support

  • Behavioural and developmental support

  • In‑home and community support

  • Respite and short‑term support options

  • Cultural support for Pasifika families

  • Connecting families to community services and programmes
